We are currently seeking a Mechanical Revit Designer / Modeler to complement our skilled team in our Toronto office. This candidate will be assisting our clients in all phases of the design process, from functional planning and conceptual layout through to detailed design and construction support.
Responsibilities :
Design - Performs mechanical engineering work (design, CAD and Revit) related to vertical infrastructure, specifically in the areas of mechanical systems, i.
e. HVAC, plumbing and fire protection
Prepares contract drawings and specifications in conjunction with project team for delivery to client
Documents study progress / results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events
Liaises with clients to exchange information re : project progress
Use Revit to create and maintain building mechanical models, drawings and schedules
Develop designs which meet client requirements and adhere to a high standard of form, fit, function, appearance and quality
Identify discrepancies in drawings and information and resolve through appropriate methods and channels
Prepares site visit reports by interpreting findings to give clear recommendations and direction to clients
Reviews shop drawings and design details by analyzing for continuity and viability
Qualifications :
Technologist diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit 3D modeling is an asset
Prior experience in mechanical systems, specifically related to industrial, institutional, and commercial buildings - preferably in the consulting engineering industry is an asset
Strong knowledge of building service, HVAC, plumbing and drainage and fire protection
Experience with quality control and production scheduling is preferred
Ability to liaise with clients
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and conflicting demands on time with a rapidly shifting work load
Strong time management skills
