The Opportunity

You will be part of our Occupational Hygiene and Safety team, to work with a team of close-knit, like-minded, occupational hygienist, hazardous materials professionals, safety professionals, and technologists. Using your skills as an occupational hygiene technician to complete on-site assessments and monitoring. As a consultant, you will be providing occupational hygiene support to a variety of public and private clients. As an occupational hygiene technician, you will be working under the supervision of other experienced technicians, project managers and senior practitioner team members, with the opportunity to rapidly assume increasing autonomy and responsibility. WSP provides mentoring of all staff, all required safety and technical training courses, on the job shadowing, and training to maximize your learning opportunity.

Your Impact

As an Occupational Hygiene and Safety technician you will have the opportunity to grow your career as a professional by :

• Using your technical knowledge of methods, regulations, equipment, tools, systems, controls, and procedures.
• Make routine and non-routine decisions with guidance and discretion of your supervising Project Manager.
• Handle various assignments that differ in scope and complexity.
• Providing project technical support and services, including :

Preparing and calibrating sampling equipment for field use,

Conducting site assessments for asbestos, mold, lead, PCB's, etc.

This role involves about 90% fieldwork and 10% office duties, requiring travel throughout Alberta, Western, and Northern Canada for extended periods, with paid overtime as needed.

You will conduct field surveys, prepare technical reports, work with colleagues across various disciplines at WSP, and contribute expertise and client deliverables for projects.

All other duties as required.

MB & ON : $26.40 - $36.90

Atlantic Provinces & QC : $26.20 - $35.30
