Overview
Our client, a global chemical company specializing in developing and manufacturing eco-friendly, low-hazard, technically advanced chemical systems, is seeking a permanent Material Handler / Blender for their Grande Prairie location.
The Production Material Handler / Blender role will report to the Lead Blender / Shift Supervisor and assist in production of products for packaging, and all aspects of bulk blending process, including mixing the product per the batch sheets, filling totes, and loading / unloading chemical trucks.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution of blending products as per blend instructions under the supervision of the lead blender.
- Load and unload chemical trucks, perform preventive and routine maintenance.
- General plant housekeeping, including attendance of required meetings.
- Responsible for reporting any equipment malfunction to the facility maintenance lead.
- Attend safety meetings, reviews, and reporting activities as required.
- Effectively communicate with all employees to ensure they are always working safely and communicating to minimize any unnecessary risks.
- Ensure all manufacturing objectives are met efficiently and safely.
- Maintain all appropriate documentation, safety, and ISO Certifications and employee training as required for your area of responsibility. Report any operational or HSE issue to the Lead Blender.
- Ensure safe, cleanliness, and hygienic practices and conditions are maintained.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Mechanical aptitude required, including chemical production processes (physical and chemical properties of raw materials and products).Able to operate piping manifolds, pumps, and transfer product to storage tanks.Understand and track safety, quality, and productivity data, including run rates, fill weights, and averages.Flexibility to work with and provide support for several people and departments.Time management skills to keep ahead of administrative tasks in various areas.Able to collaborate, solve problems, decision-making and have analytical skills with attention to detail.Experience / Education
TDG and WHIMIS certification is an asset.Experience in a related role and industry is considered an asset.First Aid, CPR & H2S certifications are considered an asset.Working Conditions
Position requires overtime and being on-call.Ability to lift 45 lbs.Ability to work in varied environments and conditions.Must be able to pass a mask fit test.This position offers a very attractive compensation package, with great benefits, and is eligible for profit share bonus based on individual performance and company financial performance.
