Role

Analyst, Property Tax

Department: Accounting

Location: On site, Laval, QC (4204 boulevard Industriel, H7L 0E3)

Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours)

Responsibilities

• Process property tax bills for Canadian store locations within strict timelines and route them through the appropriate approval levels.
• Review and analyze property tax assessment notices from MPAC and forward findings to Property Tax Consultants.
• Prepare and send supporting documentation to the mailing department or colleagues for cheque issuance.
• Maintain a strong service approach by ensuring departmental needs are met with timeliness, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Provide effective support to departmental colleagues on expense-related inquiries and database usage, managing all requests related to expense analysis and billing.
• Receive, sort, and process incoming mail and cheques in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Communicate regularly with municipalities regarding additional charges, credits, and account adjustments.
• Process business taxes and BIA levies for applicable locations.
• Collaborate with Property Administrators and Property Managers to support ongoing property-related activities.
• Assist Site Administrators with prospective tenant applications and accounts receivable collections.
• Re-invoice tenants on leased sites in Eastern Canada based on their proportionate share of applicable costs.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support accurate, efficient workflow and reporting.

Requirements

• Education: DEC in accounting or related field preferred. Combination of experience and education that meet minimum requirements may be substituted.
• Experience: 3 years of experience or more preferred.
• Knowledge and skills: Proficient in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of Tango is an asset. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
• Language: Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English), both spoken and written. Role requires collaboration with global teams.
