Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and decisive Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in Montreal, Canada. As Executive Chef, you will oversee all culinary operations, develop innovative menus, and uphold the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
- Develop and implement creative menu concepts aligned with current culinary trends and customer preferences.
- Lead and mentor a team of culinary professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage food costs, inventory, and budgets to ensure optimal financial performance.
- Collaborate with management to ensure overall restaurant success and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Supervise quality control measures for food preparation and presentation.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making for the culinary department.
- Stay informed of industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into culinary offerings.
- Represent the restaurant at culinary events and engage with the local gastronomic community.
Qualifications
Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent combination of training and experience.7 to 10 years of progressive culinary experience, including significant leadership roles.Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar senior culinary position.Deep knowledge of various cuisines and culinary techniques.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.Excellent financial skills, including budgeting and cost control experience.Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.Thorough knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations.Problem-solving skills and ability to make decisive decisions in a constantly evolving environment.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Proficiency with culinary software and inventory management systems.Valid food safety certification.Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Bilingual in English and French preferred, given the Montreal location.Additional Information
