This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday day shift position (with the earliest start time at 8:30 a.m.), based in Mississauga and performed exclusively on-site (office and production).

What will your day-to-day look like?

The Supervisor, Metrology Department; Dimensional, Experimental and Development, Gauge and Tooling, and NDT Inspection, supports both Production and Experimental/Development business units within the Engine Centre.

The work executed by the team is complex, technical, regulated and fast-paced, including many sub-specialties which requires dedicated leadership.

The Supervisor oversees a team of about 10 providing leadership across a range of advanced inspection disciplines including MRB, CMM and dimensional inspection, NDT, Spec Check and Experimental Authorized Inspection, and Tooling and Gauge Calibration.

They are responsible for operational performance, regulatory compliance, employee development, workload prioritization, and continuous improvement across the department.

Finding operational improvements and efficiencies, as well as workforce planning, will be a critical component of this role.

Additionally, working collaboratively with various stakeholders across multiple business units will be essential.

Leadership & Department Oversight

  • Lead and supervise a team of 10 metrology, NDT, CMM, and inspection professionals across multiple shifts and high priority workstreams.

  • Set daily priorities for the department

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, overtime, and resource allocation to meet fluctuating production and development demands.

  • Conduct performance reviews, develop training plans, and mentor staff in advanced inspection competencies.

Operational Excellence & Technical Governance

  • Establish or optimize processes, inspection methods or capabilities, calibration strategies, team governance and departmental strategy

  • Devise and track all needed departmental KPIs and implement CORE to ensure the customer is supported

  • Improve visibility around key processes of interest to stakeholders

  • Maintain capital/equipment plan ensuring capabilities are maintained and/or improved

  • Audit processes to documentation driving change where required, removing roadblocks, providing clarification, and improving quality and efficiencies

  • Oversee the execution and accuracy of work performed within the department

  • Ensure data solutions are in place and data integrity is maintained and cleaned in systems including ITDM

Risk Management & Quality Compliance

  • Support internal and regulatory audits and foster a quality, safety, and compliance-focused culture.

  • Manage and mitigate operational risks surrounding volume of work, capabilities, and resources

  • Support and/or lead escape process when required

Performance Management & Strategy

  • Track and report on departmental KPIs

  • Drive process optimization, automation opportunities, and digital tool adoption to increase throughput and reduce cost

  • Lead organizational changes impacting the metrology department and develop mitigation plans.

1. Experimental Authorized Inspection / Spec Check / Experimental Inspection

  • Conducts quality audits for experimental engines and related parts.

  • Ensures conformity with engineering design, QMSPs, and TCCA requirements.

  • Raises quality notifications, investigates non-conformances, and ensures parts meet airworthiness conditions.

2. Material Review & Quality Review

  • Analyzes non-conforming hardware and recommends repair schemes or dispositions.

  • Acts as the interface between Operations and Engineering.

3. Gauge & Tooling Calibration and Inspection

  • Performs calibrations for measuring equipment, gauges, and assembly tooling.

  • Updates ITDM, validates tooling repairs, quarantines non-conforming equipment, and supports audits and investigations.

  • Inspects tools to drawing, manages databases, and processes out-of-tolerance reports.

4. CMM / Dimensional Inspection

  • Develops and validates CMM programs.

  • Performs complex dimensional inspections, in-process and final checks, and non-conformance reporting.

  • Maintains CMM hardware and software and schedules the use and maintenance of precision measurement instruments.

  • Investigates, inspects, and documents material non-conformances

  • Supports inspections needed for gauges and tooling, in additional to development and production hardware

6. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

  • Performs FPI, MPI, and other certified NDT methods.

  • Analyzes NDT results for accuracy and compliance with regulatory and engineering standards.

  • Maintain industry certifications including Level 3 statuses

  • Develops or refines testing procedures when required.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Experience in CMM, dimensional inspection, and NDT.

  • Understanding of engine production, development, and certification environments.

  • Experience with tooling/fixture calibration and dispositioning significant out-of-tolerance conditions.

  • Experience in MRB activities

  • Able to manage across multiple shifts, competing priorities, and urgent requests.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor, coach, and develop technical teams.

  • Skilled at cross-functional communication with Engineering, Production, and Quality.

  • Maintains a safe working environment executing weekly/monthly reviews

  • Experience with AS9100, TCCA, FAA, and related audit requirements.

  • Knowledge of Quality industry standards and controlled inspection environments.

  • Experience implementing governance and driving success through business management frameworks similar to CORE

  • Proven ability to identify process improvements and automation opportunities.

  • Ability to drive change in complex, high-compliance environments.

  • Experience with external vendors and negotiation.

  • Minimum: Technical diploma or degree in manufacturing, mechanical, aerospace, or related discipline.

  • Experience in manufacturing and/or aerospace supervisory roles strongly preferred.

The salary range for this role is 78,000 CAD - 122,850 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
