Our client is seeking a Power Engineer with 2+ years of on site experience preferably in a data centre.
Building Operator to oversee the high demand of a data centre in Winnipeg!

You will have the opportunity to work closely with tenant to ensure the reliable uptime of the computer floor and associate mechanical and electrical equipment so having strong communication skills and a professional demeanor is a must-have. Since you will be operating a 24 / 7 property shift work will be required, you will be expected to be organized, flexible and efficient in addition to having superb customer service skills. The property is critical to our tenants operation we are looking for a Building Operator who is very hands on as this is building requires constant upkeep.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the efficient, effective and successful control of all base building equipment and systems such as chillers, centrifugal pumps and various air-handling systems etc.Ensuring that cleanliness and housekeeping conditions are fully observed to only the highest standard.Perform scheduled preventative maintenance using Angus PM system.Perform demand maintenance and repairs to required fans, pumps, etc as required.Track and schedule work, ensuring all annual compliance testing and inspections are completed.Manage tenant work order requests using the Angus TR system while ensuring tenants are satisfied with building operation mattersAssist contractors in the completion of required tasks. Obtain estimates and quotations for proposed work in the building as required.Comply with business Health and safety policies such as participating in the H&S committee,Provide tour and inspection reports on an ongoing basis. Support the maintenance and ongoing improvement of WHMIS, environmental, health and safety programs etc.Ensure that all Corporate OH&S Policies, Procedures and Programs are implemented and strictly followed, including Environmental, Sustainability and Property Management Policies and Procedures. Perform water treatment chemical testing, critical system testing including chilled water back up, base building and tenant generators.Maintain operator logs, checklists and inspectionsActively participate in energy management practices for all mechanical and ventilation systems.QUALIFICATIONS
2 years plus experience in commercial property management operationsA strong knowledge of Building HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, BAS Systems and Life Safety Systems.5th class power engineering license or BES certificationsValid drivers licenseA highly collaborative & team-oriented personality as we all work closely together, and problem solve togetherA hands-on mechanical and electrical professional with strong trouble-shooting skillsPassion for sustainability and energy managementCriminal record check, background checkSHIFTS :
The shifts are a 40-hour averaging over 4 weeks.
Week 1 Mon to Fri days 5 : 30 am to 1 pm
Week 2 Mon to Fri days 7 am to 3 pm
Week 3 Mon, Tues, Wed 1 pm to 10 pm Thur & Fri off Sat 6 am to 6pm
Week 4 Sun 6am to 6pm off Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur & Fri 12 : 30 pm to 10 pm
Data Center is a ~65,000 sq ft facility that serves the entire company and is operational 24 / 7.
The selected candidate must be willing to work within a rotation schedule and share on-call duties as part of the rotation schedule, while providing standby support to on-call maintenance staff as required and to attend any after-hours emergencies as may be required from time to time, and back up to other sites within portfolio as required.
