Job Description
- Responsible for technical tasks within the automated unit dose drug distribution system including restocking of Omnicell automated dispensing units, dispensing and compounding of patient specific prescription, distribution and control of narcotic and controlled drugs and other inventory management tasks.
- Responsible for the operation of select Pharmacy Automation systems
- Prepackaging of unit doses and preparation of sterile pharmaceutical products.
Qualifications
Completion of a recognized college level Pharmacy Assistant or Technician Program requiredRegistered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)Previous hospital experience with unit dose and / or automated drug distribution system and intravenous admixture service requiredPrevious experience with Best Possible Medication History PreferredPrevious experience operating pharmacy robot preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to participate in a team environmentMust be able to meet the physical demands of the positionSatisfactory employment and attendance record requiredSite : Milton District Hospital & Georgetown Hospital as required
Hours : Monday - Sunday; Days, Evenings & Nights; Various rotating; 8 hour shifts (0700-1500, 0800-1600, 12 : 00-2000, 1500-2300, 2300-0700). Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.
