Mechanical Estimator

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting our team to deliver accurate and competitive bids. You’ll lead a team in all aspects of the estimating process, analyzing drawings and specifications, preparing quantity takeoffs, issuing RFQs, coordinating with vendors, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective estimating strategies, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across a variety of construction projects.

Your day-to-day will look like :

• Collaborate with executives and project managers to align estimates with company goals.
• Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to fully understand project scope and identify potential risks.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material / labour cost estimates using Trimble Accubid.
• Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Bills of Materials (BOM), and scopes of work to support estimating accuracy.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing, and compile bid submissions.
• Monitor and update cost databases, historical pricing, and vendor lists.
• Participate in project handoff meetings and post-bid reviews to support continuous improvement.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and recommend cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or schedule.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, suppliers, and project team members.

The following are considered an asset : Experience working on high-rise, institutional, or complex mechanical system projects

Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, or other design / modeling software.

Red Seal Plumbing or HVAC certification.
