Our evolution will involve creating stronger marketing centres of excellence combined with clearer BU (Business Unit) aligned marketing strategy and support roles.
This role is the glue across business, partners, vendors, marketing for special One Sun Health programs. Reporting to the AVP Health Marketing, the Senior Manager, Health Marketing, Strategic Initiatives will serve as a critical member of the Health Marketing leadership team. Responsible for directly supporting Sun Life’s effort on the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) program with the Government of Canada and the Sustainability driven Focus Area of Impact.
What will you do?
The Senior Manager, Health Marketing, Strategic Initiatives will primarily work closely with all CDCP working groups and core teams that have a direct member focus
Responsible for ensuring the member journey, experience and communications are clear and consistent across channels
Understand the provider journey, experience and communications and identify and manage any implications for the member journey
Help represent CXO, Marketing in meetings and with Health Canada where appropriate
Working with the Sustainability team and business partners on the Focus Area of Impact as the strategy, positioning and OKRs are developed
Help understand and bridge business priorities across Health + Wealth + Protection
Help support the planning and development and execution of a go to market plan for 2024 and 2025 supporting across Health + Wealth Vertical Marketing and CXO teams and agency partners
Overall, the Senior Manager is critical in defining, leading, and managing execution of tactical strategies and developing best practices. This role will be responsible for connecting marketing strategies that leverage and enable the client experience and establish personalization initiatives based on client insights and analytics. This role will develop data driven test and learn strategies to better define the purpose and value of each channel, and the role it plays across the customer journey as well as uncovering key gaps and new opportunities.
Act as the channel & delivery lead for the Health BU marketing and support our marketing efforts. Build a comprehensive understanding of Health marketing landscape to build impactful go to market initiatives. Develop and manage integrated plans, campaigns and initiatives. Work in collaboration with marketing COE owners and CXO key partners. Accountable for the measurement of KPIs and recommendations for action based on insights. Own and manage the overall resources and marketing budget in partnership with the BU lead in the businesses. Build expertise in the vertical they lead through on-going integration with BU leaders, their team, and external partnerships. Help manage and support 3rd party vendors and agency partners, while leading and managing the vendor relationship (WTD) - operations, delivery, renewals.
What will you need to succeed?
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field, with a minimum of 7 years in an integrated marketing leadership role
5 years experience in digital, marketing or channel management (strongly preferred experience in Retail, Insurance or Financial Services)
Strong experience with full funnel pipeline management, content strategy and building a marketing calendar in direct-to-consumer marketing, business -to-business marketing, (or B2B2C) and product development in a multiproduct sales environment
Experience in and passion for Health industry or with health care business or strategy (Group Benefits, health start-up)
Exposure to working in highly regulated environments, with the ability to introduce innovation in this context
Bias for action and creative problem solving, test and learn growth mindset, and analytics-based decision making
Understanding of marketing technologies with a demonstrated ability to find client insights through data analysis and translate them into elements to maintain, reinforce or evolve Sun Life’s operating model
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust and strong relationships, understand multiple agendas, and to align interests and competing priorities accordingly
Exceptional understanding of omni-channel with the proven ability to think through multi-channels and be able to tie the experience together
Strong leadership skills and expérience in managing agile teams, with demonstrated proficiency in operating within a shared services and / or matrix model
Must have the ability to design and implement a strong framework for measurement and tracking, and be laser focused on highlighting performance outcomes, drivers and the key metrics of success
Strategic influencing and communication skills and be adept in building and sustaining partnerships and alliances
Conceptual thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically to understand and solve complex business problems
An innovative and creative mindset with proven experience in translating strategies and concepts into tactical execution
