Responsibilities
- Play an integral role in the design, implementation, maintenance and review of MNP’s quality management systems under the new Canadian Standards for Quality Management (CSQM1 and CSQM 2 and CAS 220) and QC 1000
- Work with a variety of teams to lead the identification and assessment of key risks and design
- Implement and test controls across the Firm
- Assist with the documentation and development of process narratives and detailed control descriptions
- Evaluate risks and suggest practical solutions to mitigate risks
- Liaise with stakeholders and our Quality, Risk, and Compliance teams, to ensure our assurance practice operates with the highest quality and effectiveness
- Regularly measure and communicate progress, risks, and required changes to the Vice President, Quality Management
- Apply industry and technical expertise to risks, internal process and control issues, and compliance through reports, technical work, presentations, and high-quality deliverables
- Promote and explain the importance of quality management to partners, managers, and team members across the Firm
- Support our internal regulatory team with external inspection processes
- Lead the internal inspection program for our Public Company niche
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining policies, guidelines, procedures, and tools
- Lead Firm-wide training for the concepts, tools, and templates as they relate to the systems of quality management
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to quality management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
- Assist with SOQM and QC 100 testing and implementation, on an ad hoc basis
- Assist with focus and in-flight reviews on Public Company engagements, on an ad hoc basis
Skills and Experience
A CPA or CIA designation, or another relevant professional designation5 to 7 years of relevant audit work experience in a technical role which could include working with internal audits or controls, or working with quality management systems and control principlesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and activitiesExperience facilitating discussions with, and presenting to, senior leadershipCritical thinking skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex issues and scenariosWork experience with reporting issuer requirements, compliance, or the reporting issue process would be considered an assetProficient use of MS Visio and MS Project would be considered an asset
