Description

Reena is actively looking for Contract, Part-Time Recreational Support Workers ( RSWs) to work within its Community Outreach programs. As an RSW, you would provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

This is a great opportunity for University / College students looking for Part-Time employment. There is potential for extensions and growth within the agency.

Work Schedule :

December 23rd – January 3rd

  • Hours : 8 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM
  • Days off : December 25th and 26th (Holiday break)

January 3rd – March 3rd

  • Monday : 5 : 00 PM – 9 : 00 PM
  • Tuesday : 4 : 30 PM – 8 : 30 PM
  • Wednesday : 5 : 00 PM – 8 : 30 PM
  • Thursday : 5 : 00 PM – 9 : 00 PM
  • Sunday : 11 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM

    Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement recreational activities for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Reinforce social and life skills
  • Participate in mandatory meetings and training
  • Qualifications

    Requirements

  • High School Diploma as the minimum education
  • CPR Level C
  • A valid G2 license is recommended.
  • Volunteer experience in recreational camps or working with individuals with special needs
  • Qualification

  • Relevant background in child care, education, social work, psychology, and social services
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn
  • Flexible and adaptive to change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment.
  • Creativity, patience, and a passion for working with children and youth.

In 1977, Reena began receiving funding from the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services and since that time has grown to provide support for hundreds of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Reena offers a variety of services including : residential support, respite programs, counselling, therapy and advocacy.
