Recreation Therapist Recreation Therapy Continuing Care

Reports to the Clinical Manager of the Functional Enhancement Unit Complex Continuing Care and Reactivation Care Centre. You will provide Recreation Therapy assessments group interventions 1 : 1 interventions and community integration to all patients within the program. You will also support cross coverage to other units within the organization.

Qualifications :

• Completion of a university degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation & Leisure Studies with a therapeutic Recreation option or a related field or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification preferred. Registered Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (R / TRO) members will be considered.
• Must be a member of the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association (CTRA) or Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO)
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a healthcare facility
• Experience working with elderly people
• Experience working with people post-stroke
• Experience with people recovering from a fracture
• Experience working with persons with cognitive and / or behavioural challenges
• Experience in developing and conducting group and 1 : 1 programs
• Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with community resources and demonstrated ability to work well with community partners
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Computer proficiency
• Excellent attendance punctuality and work record
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
• Must demonstrate Oslers Values of Respect Excellence Service Compassion Innovation and Collaboration
• Travel between and work at all Osler sites as operationally required

Additional Information :

Hours : Currently Days 8 hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary : Minimum : $35.86

Maximum : $45.90
