Reporting Structure
Reporting to the QA Manager – Food Safety and Quality Programs, the HACCP Coordinator will support the development, continuous improvement, maintenance and management of all changes to the Preventative Control Plan (PCP) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) to ensure compliance with third‑party, customer, internal or regulatory requirements at the Brampton facility, with eventual transfer to a local Maple Lodge Farms facility.

What You Will Be Doing
Maintenance and management of the Preventative Control Plan (PCP) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) : issue change communication, document updates on the log of changes, version control on document register; post PDF versions of approved documents to the FSMS Documentation Drive; initiate annual document review process with document owners; assist in reviewing and updating internal policies and procedures to satisfy third‑party, customer, or regulatory requirements.Monitor the haccp@maplelodgefarms.com mailbox to respond to basic requests and escalated more complicated requests.Support the development and continuous improvements of the PCP and FSMS.Convert documents in old format into new document templates (Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms, Appendices).Support the equipment calibration process : initiate calibration reminder with process owners, maintain the equipment calibration log, coordinate calibration of equipment assigned to the food safety team.Assist with various food safety and quality related projects and food safety validations, including data entry and tabulating, and basic graphing at minimum : conduct and / or support validation / revalidation and risk assessments related to prerequisite programs and critical control points (CCPs).Complete and submit reports on various metrics such as daily traffic light scorecard and Standard Inspection Process (SIP) report for Management Review Meetings in a timely manner.Assist in reassessment of the PCP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and PreRequisite Programs annually as per schedule; when changes to programs, processes, procedures, raw materials, equipment, or technology occur, ensure that all regulatory, company, and / or customer requirements are effectively implemented.Participate in external third‑party audits, second‑party audits, internal and regulatory audits and assist in timely closure of necessary corrective action items : initiate review of the corrective action tracker (CAT) to track the food safety team’s closure of assigned findings; consolidate findings and provide summary to the team.Attend, participate and / or lead meetings related to operations, continuous improvement, food safety and quality, and management review meetings, as required.Provide back‑up support and coverage for HACCP Specialist as required.Support stakeholders to ensure compliance with written programs.Other duties as assigned.Policies, Processes & Procedures : adhere / comply with company policies and procedures; follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.What You Will Bring
A minimum of 2 years of experience working in HACCP role(s) in the food industry, preferably in meat and in a unionised environment.Team‑player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders (including CFIA Inspectors) and develop positive working relationships with all employees.Working knowledge of quality assurance principles, food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, USDA, FDA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.Dynamic and proactive employee, with a strong ability to multi‑task and work under pressure in a fast‑paced demanding environment.Excellent organisational skills, initiative, attention to detail and accuracy of information.Intermediate to strong computer skills (e.g. MS Office).Must be able to work with minimal supervision.Undergraduate degree in Food Science, Microbiology or a related field.Education and Certification Requirements
