Leviton Lighting Canada is a manufacturer of industry-leading luminaires for both the United States and Canada. Leading brands include Visioneering, Certolux, Birchwood, ConTech and Intense brands. We manufacture a complete line of energy efficient and IoT ready lighting solutions for industrial, commercial, medical, institutional and architectural applications to name a few.

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will focus on driving growth by expanding Leviton Lighting Canada's market reach, Managing existing sales channels and revenue while expanding end users directly, and creating strategic business objectives with existing agents network. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and implementing effective strategies to achieve and exceed business development goals. The BDM will serve as a subject matter expert on Leviton’s solutions offerings and advocate for core corporate objectives while initiating strategic success roadmaps.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute strategies to secure lighting projects that leverage the engineering and factory strengths.
  • Drive deployment strategies with agents and end users to maximize market penetration.
  • Lead the creation of regional “Go-to-Market” strategies targeting design-build contractors, service contractors, end users, and national accounts.
  • Collaborate on the development and continuous improvement of the overall business development plan.
  • Maintain and update project management information in CRM
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and evaluate the effectiveness of business development methods and results.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the company at industry events, training sessions, and promotional activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with employees, partners, vendors, and distributors.
  • Work closely with department heads and senior management to align objectives and ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development or sales within the lighting industry, with emphasis on LED lighting solutions.
  • Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of LED lighting technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining confidentiality of sensitive business information.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
