Geotechnical Engineering

AECOM is actively seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Specialist in Burnaby BC with extensive experience in geotechnical earthquake engineering probabilistic seismic hazard analysis liquefaction analysis and dynamic analysis. The candidate is expected to have extensive experience in the design and construction of shallow and deep foundations retaining structures embankments railways highways and airports excavation support systems tunnels trenchless and ground improvement methods (stone columns soil mixing etc.). The successful candidate will have opportunity to work on major transportation water resources marine civil infrastructure and building projects. The successful candidate will have a key role in the development and growth of our geotechnical practice in Canada. This is a Full-time role.

Work with diverse teams of engineers designers and drafters from conceptual design through preliminary and final design; manage projects and be responsible for completion on schedule and financial performance; resolve complex geotechnical issues; write compile and review geotechnical reports and proposals for major projects; prepare and present technical papers and contribute to advancement of earth science in our area of technical specialization; maintain quality throughout a project and implement improvements when determined; prepare project summary reports; resolve claims with respect to deferring ground conditions : encourage growth within the group and improve the general knowledge base throughout the company; develop and sustain long-lasting business relationships with clients; and travel within Canada when required.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements :

• Bachelors in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 4 years of relevant experience in geotechnical geological and geotechnical earthquake engineering.
• Eligible for P. Eng. registration in Canada within a year.
