Environmental Services Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned Environmental Services Supervisor to lead our environmental operations at the Michelin Tire Plant in New Glasgow. This is a hands-on, dynamic leadership role that ensures our facility remains safe, compliant, and pristine.

You will oversee everything from daily light-duty office cleaning to the specialized heavy-duty industrial sanitation required in a world-class manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead with Heart: Manage, mentor, and support a frontline team of Environmental Services Workers. You’ll be responsible for scheduling, performance coaching, and fostering a culture of mutual respect.
• Oversee Operations: Coordinate both light-duty (offices, breakrooms, restrooms) and heavy-duty (shop floor, machinery degreasing, industrial spills) cleaning tasks.
• Safety First: Ensure all team members adhere to Aramark Canada and Michelin’s strict safety protocols and chemical handling (WHMIS) standards.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency.
• Inventory Management: Monitor supply levels and equipment maintenance to ensure the team has what they need to succeed.

Who You Are

• An Experienced Leader: You have a proven track record (5+ years preferred) of leading teams. You know how to motivate people, handle conflict with empathy, and lead by example.
• Industrial Savvy: You understand the complexities of a manufacturing plant. Experience with heavy-duty cleaning equipment (scrubbers, pressure washers, etc.) is a major asset.
• Resilient & Adaptable: You thrive in high-pressure environments and can pivot quickly when priorities change
• Communicator: You can clearly bridge the gap between upper management and frontline staff.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in professional cleaning (Commercial or Industrial)
• Demonstrated experience in a people-leadership role
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing contextProficent in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)
• Skilled in task prioritization and time management
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
