Reporting to the VP Finance, the Senior Director, Finance, Shared Services will oversee and lead teams responsible for delivering efficient and effective financial services to various business units within the company. This role will provide strategic direction, financial expertise, and guidance to drive excellence in financial processes, systems, and reporting.
Key Accountabilities :
Financial Process Oversight
Oversee the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including credit management, billing, invoicing, cash application, collections, and reconciliationOversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, validation, coding, approval workflow, and payment processingOversee day-to-day cash operations including credit card, POS and daily banking processes for clinics and business unitsOversee the end-to-end payroll processing cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.Process Optimization and Efficiency
Evaluate existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and streamlining to drive efficiency and accuracyImplement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize finance operations, reduce manual effort and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirementsDrive initiatives to improve financial controls, compliance, and risk management within shared services operationsContinuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and improve the effectiveness of finance sharedCustomer and Vendor Relationship Management
Manage relationships with payroll service providers, software vendors, and other external partners to ensure service levels are met and issues are resolved promptlyFoster positive relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments, resolve disputes, and address billing inquiries effectivelyManage vendor relationships and communication, addressing inquiries, resolving disputes, and negotiating favorable payment terms when necessaryCollaborate with vendors to implement system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations to support evolving business needs.Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to optimize vendor selection, contract negotiation, and vendor performance management processes.Internal Stakeholder Management
Serve as a point of contact for escalations from employees, business partners, and other stakeholdersEngage key business leaders for feedback on financial process improvements or changesDevelop and deploy training materials, policies, procedures, and resources to enhance employee understanding and self-service capabilities around finance processesStand up a proper shared service intake and triage process to address general finance questions coming from business unitsCompliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax laws related to finance operationsStay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices, implementing necessary updates and enhancements.Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to conduct periodic reviews and audits of processes and controlsLeadership and General Management
Develop and execute the strategic vision for the shared services function, aligned with the organization's financial goals and objectivesProvide leadership, guidance, and direction to the shared services teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Participate regularly in meetings providing financial guidance and support as neededManaging business expectations and setting priorities as appropriateDevelop strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships to support key critical initiativesMentor and coach team members in achieving their goals, provide feedback and address any performance issuesRole Requirements :
A Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related field is requiredProfessional accounting designation (CPA, CFA) preferredExtensive experience (8+) in shared services accounting operations and proven track record of driving process improvements, automation, and efficiency gainsExperience with financial transaction processing systems and automation tools preferredStrong leadership and management skills to motivate and develop a high-performing teamStrong strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making abilitiesExperience working in a fast-paced or transformational environmentDemonstrate a growth mindset through agile and flexible working style, openness to feedback and resilience in working through business challengesExcellent communication (verbal, written and comprehension) and presentation skillsProven collaboration skills with the ability to influence internal / external stakeholdersAbility to plan, organize and prioritize numerous tasks with conflicting deadlinesResults-oriented – able to consistently deliver on-time and accurate resultsWhy Lifemark :
