The Opportunity

Are you looking to broaden your exposure beyond a single organization or industry, while continuing to apply your hands‑on accounting expertise in a meaningful way?
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our Accounting Services Group in a senior, client‑facing role. This position is ideal for a Controller who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys working directly with business owners, and is motivated by variety, problem‑solving, and advisory work across multiple industries and business models .
You will act as a trusted financial partner to owner‑managed businesses, supporting them with financial reporting, operational insights, and sound decision‑making—while mentoring staff and contributing to the growth of our practice.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will leverage your Controller‑level experience while gaining exposure to a diverse client portfolio :
- Manage a portfolio of owner‑managed and entrepreneurial clients across multiple industries
- Oversee and review monthly and year‑end financial reporting, working papers, and financial statements
Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes for multiple client environments
Support business owners with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and operational insightsAct as a key advisor to clients, helping them interpret financial results and make informed business decisionsEnsure compliance with applicable accounting standards and firm quality control processesMentor, coach, and provide performance feedback to senior and intermediate accounting staffCoordinate engagement planning, timelines, and resource allocationIdentify opportunities to improve client workflows, reporting processes, and internal efficienciesAssist partners with client relationship management and business development initiatives as needed.What You Bring
You are a seasoned accounting professional who enjoys both technical work and client interaction :
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting considered an asset; equivalent experience welcomedCPA designation considered an asset6 - 8+ years of progressive accounting experience , including Controller or senior industry experienceExperience in an owner‑managed, entrepreneurial, or closely held business environmentStrong technical knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standardsProven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholdersExperience reviewing financial statements and working papersComfort working with cloud‑based accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online, CaseWare, Sage)Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial audiencesA collaborative, solutions‑oriented mindset with a desire to add value beyond the numbers.Why Join Us?
