Position Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Janitorial / Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning operations within commercial and / or industrial facilities. This role is responsible for supervising staff, maintaining quality standards, coordinating schedules, and ensuring all services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to specification.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills, customer service experience, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of janitorial and housekeeping staff
- Plan, assign, and manage employee work schedules
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets established standards and specifications
- Train staff on work procedures, safety practices, and proper use of equipment
- Investigate service or equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate cleaning activities with other departments as needed
- Monitor inventory and ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order
- Assist with cleaning duties when required
- Select appropriate cleaning products and materials for various surfaces and environments
Qualifications & Skills
Previous supervisory experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities servicesStrong leadership, delegation, and team-building skillsExcellent customer service and problem-solving abilitiesEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesComfortable using basic computer programs (email, spreadsheets, payroll or inventory systems)Education & Experience
Associate’s degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience6 months to 1 year of related supervisory or facilities experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Exposure to wet / humid conditions, cleaning chemicals, mechanical equipment, noise, and varying temperaturesFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reachingAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAdditional Requirements
