The Company

Our hospitality client based in downtown Montreal is looking for a Web Analytics Implementation Specialist for an 11 month contract. This is a hybrid opportunity, working in office 1 day per week and 4 days work from home.

The Position

The Web Analytics Implementation Specialist will manage tagging operations, data collection, and analytics platform maintenance across our digital properties. This role plays a critical part in enabling accurate, compliant, and scalable data capture to support business insights, product development, and feature launches.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the implementation and maintenance of client-side and server-side tagging across company websites.
• Ensure accurate and reliable data collection for new feature launches and ongoing site enhancements.
• Own execution and governance of Google Tag Manager (GTM), both client-side and server-side.
• Build, test, deploy, and maintain GTM tags, triggers, variables, and templates in alignment with architectural and governance standards.
• Translate business and product requirements into clear technical specifications for tagging and data layer implementations.
• Partner closely with in-house developers during agile sprints to integrate and validate tracking solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive QA for all tracking implementations using GTM Preview, browser developer tools, and other validation methods.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data accuracy and implementation issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain detailed documentation in Confluence, including tagging logic, GTM configurations, and data layer specifications.
• Build and manage an internal knowledge base to reduce dependencies and single points of failure.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for GA4, GTM, and BigQuery exports.
• Manage and prioritize the analytics implementation backlog.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in analytics implementation or relevant technical roles.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Tag Manager (client-side and server-side), including custom templates and complex variable configurations.
• Strong understanding of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) event models, reporting, and dimensions.
• Experience working with BigQuery and GA4 data schemas is an asset.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for tag deployment and troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to perform thorough QA for analytics and tracking implementations.
• Familiarity with consent management frameworks and compliance tools (e.g., OneTrust).
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments and managing tasks through Jira.
• Strong collaboration skills with Product Owners, developers, and technical stakeholders.
• High attention to detail with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective and scalable tagging solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain clear process documentation and adhere to governance best practices.
