Job Description

This position is responsible for contributing to the coordinated efforts of preparing and distributing products to our retail stores.

The performance of the duties must align with all Food Safety standards, and ensure a quality service approach to all customers, employees and suppliers.

All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Manage the workforce to ensure tasks are completed as per customer needs.
  • Communicate with the Warehouse Manager as to the events of the shift.
  • Assist in training of staff, ensuring their ability to assemble orders.
  • Be accountable for the operations during the shift.
  • Make sound business decisions in the best interest of the organization.
  • Accurately complete order assembly and loading of product onto the trucks.
  • Receive goods according to Farm Boy standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing product.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and warehouse.
  • Monitor all goods coming and going from the warehouse to ensure correct paper work is in order.
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the retail food industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures and equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Superior quality and customer service standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Fluency in both official languages shall be considered an asset.

Work & Sensory Environment :

  • Unavoidable exposure to dangerous or unpleasant environmental elements such as noise, dirt, dust, vibration and changing temperatures.
  • Lack of control over work pace due to multiple and / or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
  • Required to wear cumbersome protective clothing or equipment during shift.
  • Required to lift, carry or handle heavy objects.
