Registered Nurse Role – Alberta Health Services

Join Alberta Health Services as a Registered Nurse providing comprehensive nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well‑being.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making; teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and families.
  • Play a leadership role supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
  • Provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting AHS’s shared vision and values.

  • FTE : 1.00
  • Employee Class : Regular Full Time
  • Shift Pattern : Days, Nights, Weekends
  • Hours per Shift : 11.08
  • Shifts per cycle : 40
  • Length of Shift in weeks : 12
  • Days Off : As Per Rotation

    • Salary

  • Minimum : $43.26 per hour
  • Maximum : $59.21 per hour
  • Provisional Permit holders : $39.58 – $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, payment adjusted to applicable RN rate.

    • Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP) certification.
  • Completion of CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1‑4) and NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification if not practiced as an RN in the last 5 years.
