Position Summary
The Department of Sociology and Social Studies at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin January 1, 2025.
We are seeking candidates with teaching and scholarly expertise in Sociological Theory (classical and contemporary) , with additional expertise in one of the following substantive areas : Science and Technology Studies; Intersectionality and Social Justice; or Sociology of Racialization, Ethnicity, or Decolonization.
The Faculty of Arts is home to approximately 100 full-time faculty members in thirteen departments and a range of interdisciplinary programs in social sciences and humanities. The Department of Sociology & Social Studies offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department is committed to a balanced program of teaching, scholarly activity, and service, and supports a variety of theoretical and methodological orientations. Position Requirements The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in Sociology or a related discipline, a record of scholarly activity, and a demonstrated commitment to, and enthusiasm for, teaching. Responsibilities will include contributing to course delivery and curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting research, honours and graduate thesis supervision, and participation in service activities at the departmental, faculty, and university levels commensurate with the Assistant Professor rank.
