Job Description

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director of Securitization & Funding will support the Treasurer in optimizing Momentum’s capital structure through financial planning and analysis activities related to Momentum’s debt facilities and securitization initiatives aimed at funding future growth aspirations.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Treasurer and broader organization in structuring, analysis, modeling and execution of securitized funding
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to enhance economics and funding efficiency, including making improvements to existing facilities and developing alternative funding strategies and structures to support near-term and long-term growth
  • Help launch new facilities and securitization programs, establish effective processes and build associated internal and external reporting and evaluation tools required to track performance
  • Prepare detailed collateral performance packages for Lenders, rating agencies and other relevant stakeholders
  • Perform cash flow modeling and data analysis, including statistical stratification of collateral, historical performance statistics, projection of future performance expectations and deviation of expected losses
  • Become subject matter expert on unsecured collateral performance, facility structures and associated constraints
  • Monitor and maintain accurate borrowing base reporting and assist in execution of draws and repayments of debt
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis for Lenders from large data sets, including vintage analysis, stratification and static pool analysis
  • Collaborate with internal risk management and analytics teams to prepare analysis required by Lenders and audit programs
  • Conduct reviews to ensure compliance with existing agreements and constraints
  • Manage process, prepare responses, review and comment on Agreed Upon Procedure (AUP) engagements with auditors
  • Proactively identify, mitigate and rectify operational risks, control deficiencies and documentation gaps
  • Review documentation for alignment with facility operation, participate in drafting sessions and facility amendments
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with lenders, counsel and various internal and external stakeholders
  • Capture key terms, concentrations, covenants and thresholds from credit agreements and translate into precise internal reporting and pro forma covenant performance forecasting
  • Manage foreign currency and interest rate exposures through hedging activities as required
  • Implement procedural and policy updates to comply with Corporate Risk and Audit guidance and requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external clients to ensure service level obligations are met
  • Ensures compliance with established internal controls to protect the financial assets of the company

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, economics, accounting, or finance. MBA, CFA, FRM, or CPA a plus
  • EXPERIENCE

  • Min 5-8 years of relevant work experience in Treasury, Capital Markets, Securitization or Finance
  • Candidates with at least 5+ years of work experience in Capital Markets, Financing or Treasury, with exposure to warehouse financing, securitization, or other ABS funding are preferred
  • Familiarity with installment loans or unsecured retail credit considered a plus
  • SKILLS

  • Strong data analysis skills required concurrent with pro-active problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with preparing numerical data sets for Lender review and responding to Lender inquiries
  • Advanced analytical, cash flow modeling (, prepayments, defaults) and numerical presentation skills
  • Solid understanding of credit markets, financial accounting and statistics
  • Experience reviewing lending agreements, familiarity with securitization legal documents
  • Comfort with using derivates for hedging interest rate risk related to funding programs
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel (including VBA), coding (Python, SQL) and data visualization (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Detail oriented with strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with relevant stakeholders and the broader team
  • Ability to develop credibility with diverse groups; must be comfortable interacting with senior management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; can convey difficult concepts clearly and concisely in written and oral form
  • Superior project management and organizational skills and capable of prioritizing and managing competing priorities
  • Self-motivated and high personal standards for the quality of work
