- Support and coach the management team with all aspects of Human Resources
- Development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
- Assist to establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals.
- Manage an annual budget in collaboration with the Spa Director and Groupe Scandinave Talent and Culture Director.

Oversees day-to-day HR operations and partners with management team to deliver HR services. Will provide matrix management to management team, as well as ensure execution and delivery of local HR programs. In collaboration with the Groupe Scandinave Talent and Culture Director, oversees labor relations, HRIS, training and development, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, organizational and staff housing.
HRIS
Manage the development and maintenance of the Human Resources sections of both the Internet, particularly recruiting, culture, and company information, and intranet sites.Maintains employee-related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company. Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.In collaboration with the HR Coordinator, fully utilize and maintain the Human Resources software to the company's advantage.Training and Development
Coach and development of the HR CoordinatorAssist with the establishment of an in-house employee training system that addresses the company's training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and training transfer.Assist managers with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants.Provide necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports.Support managers and supervisors with building coaching and professional development plans for employees.Assist with the development of and monitors the spending of the corporate training budget.Employment
In collaboration with the Spa Director and Groupe Scandinave Talent and Culture Director, participate in establishing the recruitment goals and most effective processes.Manage the recruitment process using the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.Assessing employee’s immigration needs and providing accurate immigration advice based on Scandinave Spa best practicesEmployee Relations
Support and coach the management team in maintaining strong employee relationships and positive work environment.Develop Human Resources policies for the company with regard to employee relations.Partner with management to communicate local Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, immigration and laws.Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.Advise managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company. counsel managers on employment issues.Assist with the implementation of company safety and health programs.Compensation
In collaboration with the Spa’s General Manager and Groupe Scandinave Talent and Culture Director, participate in establishing the global remuneration strategy.Monitor the company wages and salary structure within the company.Perform bi-annual labor market assessment for current roles compared to local competitors, and produce reports and recommendations.Provide payroll processing backup support.Manage HR Annual BudgetIn collaboration with the Groupe Scandinave Talent and Culture Director, manage employee benefits packages and recommends changes in benefits offered to ensure employee satisfaction and retentionOversee overall administration of current employee benefitsAdminister with disability and worker's compensation claims.Uniforms
Alongside the HR Coordinator, administer the uniform inventory and yearly purchases for each department.Recommend changes in uniforms options with the management team.Oversee the inventory and ensure needs to employees are reflected in the uniforms provided.Organization Development
Assist with the carrying out of a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.Assist with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use.Monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.Assist with the company-wide committees including the wellness, training, environmental health and safety, activity, and culture and communications committees.Staff Housing
Oversee all aspects of Staff Housing to ensure efficient operations and staffing needs are metHire, train and support staff housing caretaker
Review all processes and documentation to ensure it is up to date and provide recommendations and developments as requiredSourcing new accommodation where needed and ensuring the upkeep of each property with all necessary furniture and maintenanceManage and develop all housing agreement templatesManage Staff Housing Annual BudgetEnsure staff housing software information is up-to-date and accurate, and produce requested reporting for GM and Director, Culture and Talent.Prerequisites
5+ years experience in HR management and Labor RelationsPost secondary degree or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Organization Development, Human Resources or a related field preferredComfortable working in a matrix-like reporting environmentExtensive knowledge of workplace legislationStrong communicator and negotiator with effective interpersonal and dispute resolution abilitiesTrack record of successfully coaching and guiding leadersExcellent problem-solving skillsExperience in workplace investigationsIntermediate computer skills in MS Office Package, including Outlook, Word, and Power Point.Advance computer skills in Excel.Must be able to think on their feet, be proactive, problem solve, and deal with change daily.Must be available to work full-time onsite and attend functions after work on a semi-regular basis.Scandinave Spa Whistler, 8010 Mons Road, Whistler, British Columbia, Canada
