About the Position :
The role of an Intermediate Detailer is to provide structural design and detailing to complete fabrication drawings for the structural drafting / drafting for the gas turbine and environmental industry.
Hours of Work : 7 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM (Monday - Thursday) 8 : 00 AM to 12 : 00 PM (Friday) Total of 40 Hours Per Week
What will you be doing :
- Use AutoCAD / Solid Works / Stru-CAD to prepare accurate models and detailed shop drawings.
- Check, review and organize drawing packaged to meet detailing standards.
- Verify the accuracy of drawings and documents (ie. Review drawings vs. specifications, standards, etc.) and revise as necessary.
- Requisition material.
- Issue drawings to the shop for fabrication in accordance with production schedule.
- Prepare work orders and bills of material
- Finish work within project timelines and budget hours.
- Promptly communicate all issues and changes that could impact the project schedule or scope to the Project Manager.
- Check the work of other detailers as required.
- Creation of various documents as required.
- Adhere to drafting standards, software, processes, polices and procedures, while adapting them to varied conditions required by customers.
- Travelling to other CPF shops, jobsites, customers, suppliers and / or contractors / sub-contractors as required.
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience as a detailer.
- Knowledge in basic drafting standards and principles.
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills and a clear understanding of the English language in both Oral and Written form.
- The ability to pay close attention to detail, precision, and accuracy.
- Experience in the drafting field is an asset.
- The ability to apply basic math skills including trigonometry.
- Must have a good understanding of both 2D and 3D CAD.
- Able to safely perform duties with a minimum amount of supervision.
- Formal Technical Institute and / or University training is an asset but not a requirement.
- Must have proficient knowledge in computers and relevant software applications.
- Must have proficient knowledge in customer service practices and principles.
- Computer skills including the ability to use spreadsheet and word processing programs at a highly proficient level.Understanding metric and imperial measurements.
