Role Summary :
You will support the carbon black lab as part of our dedicated team supporting our Gen2 reactor process development and validation.
Primary Responsibilities :
Manage lab and component build materials.Physically build and install chemical, mechanical and electrical test equipment and systems.Support the implementation of lab / test system facility interfaces.Support a multi-disciplinary design team in many areas of engineering and technology development.Write lab progress reports, presentations, and SOPs.Assist in carbon collection and analysis, including wet lab techniques such as titrations.Assist in equipment monitoring and reporting changes / issues.Work early morning, late afternoon, or night shift hours with adequate notice when required for extended test operation (including weekends).Other relevant duties as required.You Bring :
In your third or fourth year of your bachelors degree in Process / Chemical Engineering, Sciences, or similar.Understanding of WHMIS and familiarity with proper safe chemical handling techniques.Strong analytical aptitude.Strong communication abilities : both written and verbal with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent attitude. Eager and willing to learn.Flexibility to work in an environment where you may need to wear multiple hats.Proficiency in all office communication formats including MS office products.Preference will be given to students that have already completed at least one COOP term, or that show previous interest and experience with hands-on skills outside of school.We are looking for someone who can work at least two consecutive terms (8 months) starting in May 2026 until December 2026.
This role is working in person, out of our Burnaby, BC facility.
