Quality Assurance / Quality Control Specialist
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor of Puratos Canada (Fraser Valley), the primary role of the Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA / QC) Specialist is to provide technical support for Quality Assurance (QA) activities, to provide technical assistance on the production floor, and to manage document control activities for all Quality and FSSC 22000 related functional groups within Puratos Foods Inc. As a key member of the QA department, you will participate in department projects, operational committees, and other organizational initiatives.

Diploma in Food Science / Biotechnology or equivalent plus 2‑5 years’ experience OR a BSc in a science related area of study and 2 years’ experience OR an acceptable combination of education / training / experience.Sound knowledge of Regulatory Requirements, Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).Experience with HACCP or ISO 9001 : 2008 and FSSC22000 an asset.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate one‑on‑one.Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, graphing and database programs.Maintains an awareness of new and emerging methods of quality control in area of quality assurance in the biotechnology industry and related regulatory requirements and ongoing changes.Demonstrates leadership ability and interpersonal skills that help to create a team environment and achieve department business goals.Problem SolvingIdentifies key or underlying issues in complex situations.
