This squad environment needs strong software engineers who have excellent core Java, strong database skills and the ability to adapt to improve.

To progress in this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate their abilities through participating in several major projects, delivering on complex Core Java development where there has been server-side exposure and enterprise data sets.

Role Responsibilities

This role will appeal to software engineering enthusiasts that are committed to all areas of the development cycle. Candidates may have worked at various stages of software development.

As the projects are a mix of Brown and Green Field, candidates must have the ability to flex across diverse tool choice, design patterns etc.

All engineers will have an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement through a collaborative agile development approach.

The post is not prescriptive, and all development will follow an iterative fashion and engagement with various stakeholders; Business Analysts, Product Owners, Users etc.

Person Specification

• Familiar with continuous improvement environments
• Demonstrable experience in Spring, Spring Boot and Hibernate
• Familiar with Agile, SCRUM, Iterative development
• Advanced SQL / MySQL database knowledge
• Familiarity with large scale SQL / Data processing Frameworks such as Apache Spark
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Apache Hive, Kafka
• A practical working knowledge of large-scale Finance or FS Risk Technology
• NB – Please note the working pattern is circa 3 days a week in Belfast City Centre, therefore candidates will be expected to live in a direct commutable distance. Candidates who are open to relocation may be considered but relocation support is not available.
