In this role, you will :
Deliver course content and evaluate participants following industry‑standard dance criteria.Develop and implement sequential weekly lesson plans.Recognize participant learning styles and deliver content accordingly.Coach and develop participants to meet success.Communicate (verbal and written) participant progress to parents and supervisors.Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date weekly progress sheets and records.Takes attendance and ensures participants are signed into and out of the program.Set up and take down recreational, program, and other equipment as required, checking safety and reporting malfunctions.Actively participate in scheduled programs, meetings, and special events.In collaboration with program members, volunteers, and staff, assist and encourage members to access additional programs offered at this location.Understand the importance of volunteer staff partnership and incorporate philanthropy and volunteerism in interactions with members, volunteers, donors, and staff.Perform other related duties to fulfill commitment to quality programs as assigned by supervisor.You bring :
Diploma or degree in Fine Arts (Dance) or equivalent training through a recognized organization.Current certifications in the following Lifesaving Society awards : Standard First Aid & CPR level C.Minimum 1 year of experience instructing children and youth in dance.Good theoretical and practical knowledge of child and youth development stages.Ability to encourage and motivate members and volunteers, acknowledging achievements and contributions.Evidence of continuing professional development in working with children and youth.Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging.Well‑developed interpersonal and relationship‑building skills; able to establish rapport and communicate excellently with members, staff, and volunteers.Excellent written communication skills.Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment, responding with sensitivity to diverse member needs.Flexibility regarding assigned work schedules, including weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends.What you need to succeed :
