Job Summary

As the Specialist, Production Technical Support, you will be responsible to identify and evaluate the manufacturing processes of products already marketed (Internal and / or external) to improve their quality, costs and / or efficiency. You will evaluate new sources of raw materials and / or excipients and make recommendations. You will perform the various tasks related to process improvement and site change.

You'll be working as part of a team with multi-disciplinary experts from a variety of departments, taking on many challenges in a non-routine position. You will be involved in all stages of manufacturing (from weighing to finished product) and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of galenic forms (tablets, capsules, pellets) and equipment (encapsulators, enrobers, fluidized beds, etc.).

Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Transfer manufacturing processes between plants
  • Solve production problems
  • Changes to new sources of raw materials
  • Evaluates project feasibility and makes recommendations
  • Integral part of project management activities
  • Assists in the manufacture of project production batches
  • Provides technical and operational support for production
  • Collaborates with production teams to solve technical problems and optimize processes.
  • Writes or revises protocols and reports)

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities :

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Sciences - Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology and / or Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical environment (GMP), preferably in manufacturing, technology transfer, formulation, or development of manufacturing processes
  • Good written and oral communication skills (English and French) as the incumbent will have to read and write documentation for suppliers and clients located outside the province of Quebec.
