Our client in York Region , ON is actively looking for a  Controller to join their team.

Position Description :   Controller – Summary of Key Responsibilities :

Financial Leadership & Reporting

Lead Finance Department operations; develop and maintain financial policies.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, bank reconciliations, and inventory reporting.
  • Manage HST filings, government remittances, and year‐end financial statements.
  • Coordinate annual audit requirements and maintain financial recordkeeping.

Sales & Revenue Support

  • Oversee invoicing, credit memos, and allocation of sales (Canadian and
  • Manage HST implications, exchange considerations, and insurance‐related financial requirements.
  • Support ISO‐related financial processes.

    • Accounts Receivable

  • Set up new customer accounts and perform credit checks.
  • Manage collections, aging reports, bad‐debt tracking, and customer payment posting.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve account discrepancies.

    • Accounts Payable

  • Process vendor payments in compliance with CRA guidelines.
  • Manage government remittances (HST, WSIB, source deductions, corporate taxes).
  • Resolve supplier issues and compute commissions.

    • Payroll Administration

  • Oversee payroll processing (partially outsourced), including vacation, garnishments, and remittances.
  • Manage ROEs, terminations, Ts, benefits, pension / RSP contributions, and compliance documentation.

    • Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain compliance with CRA, WSIB, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Draft, update, and enforce company financial and operational policies.
  • Support safety programs (JHSC, first aid, training coordination).

    • Operations & Administration

  • Purchase tools, equipment, and office supplies; support logistics and pickups as needed.
  • Maintain communication with employees regarding policies and HR‐related financial matters.

    • Contracts & Asset Management

  • Manage contracts, leases, insurance, and asset acquisitions (equipment, vehicles, facilities).
  • Oversee utilities, telecom, and facility‐related supplier relationships.
