The Division of General Surgery at Lakeshore General Hospital in Montreal, Qc, Canada, is recruiting a motivated and dynamic full time General Surgeon for a full-time position.
The ideal candidate should be a fellowship trained General or Colorectal surgeon with experience in benign anorectal disease. Training, or interest to train, in robotic pelvic surgery is an asset. A strong interest in medical teaching is required. The successful applicant will work collaboratively in providing high quality, patient‑centred care.
The candidate should have their General Surgery certification by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and must hold, or be eligible to hold, a licence by the College des Médecins de Québec. Applicants must be proficient in English and French.
The successful candidate will have access to ambulatory clinic, endoscopy and elective OR blocks. They will cover Acute Care General Surgery call. On call coverage is 1 in 7.
The Lakeshore General Hospital is a 257‑bed regional hospital in Montreal, affiliated with McGill University and a training site for residents and medical students. The successful candidate will join a strong collaborative group of 2 MIS/foregut surgeons, 2 Breast and General surgeons, 1 ICU and General Surgeon, and 1 Colorectal surgeon. The hospital includes a full complement of FRCSC trained anesthesia, orthopaedic, plastics, otolaryngology, general, urology, OBGYN and internal medicine. A closed ICU, and advanced diagnostic and interventional radiology are available.
Compensation is fee for service.
