Site Description

Dartmouth General Hospital provides services to approximately 120,000 people in Dartmouth and surrounding areas.

Position Details

Position : Shift Supervisor

Site : Dartmouth General

Hours : 4 on, 4 off rotation, 12 hour shifts, days and overnights

Payrate : $22.50

Key Responsibilities

Shift Supervisors are responsible for the direction and training of staff during day‑to‑day operations of the Healthcare Security team at their site. Communication is a key function of the Shift Supervisor, as they are an extension of the Site Supervisor and Management team.

Shift Supervisors Are Responsible For

• Directing employees to perform to the standards of Paladin's policies and procedures.
• Ensuring employees have and retain knowledge of the site operations.
• Ensuring their team is made aware of and understand any Paladin issued memo / announcement.
• Ensuring contractual obligations are met - such as no time loss on site. Addressing lateness, absences, and covering shifts as needed.
• Responding to all emergencies; taking command of the situation.
• Ensuring the health and safety of staff as it pertains to training on Paladin's Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and reporting any incidents that occur during their shift.
• Dealing with disciplinary issues that arise on site, including completion of meetings and paperwork. Severe disciplinary infractions will require collaboration between the Shift Supervisor, Management, and Human Resources.

Shift Supervisor Duties

An ideal candidate for Shift Supervisor can take care of the big and little things that make a site run more smoothly. They take initiative to help out and always ensures their team of employees is supported and recognized.

Education Requirements (All)

High School Diploma / GED

Certification Requirements (All)

First Aid, CPR Level C
