The Role

The successful applicant will join our passionate and dynamic Integrated Learning Program (ILP) team as the Year 7 teacher. The ILP caters to students who are identified as requiring additional support with their literacy and numeracy skills development. The ILP offers a smaller class of approximately 18 students, enabling the teacher (and a full-time Education Assistant) to more effectively differentiate and scaffold their teaching to meet student needs. As well as smaller class sizes, students in the ILP are immersed in an educationally supportive and caring environment to better meet their learning needs. As such, the successful applicant should have a passion for improving student literacy and numeracy outcomes, have the ability to promote an environment of active and positive engagement, and build positive relationships that support students to thrive in their education.

As the designated Year 7 teacher you will teach students English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences and Social-emotional Learning (SEL), providing a comprehensive education focused on the development of the whole-child, which we are fully committed to at CLC. To compliment the academic component of the program the Individualized Learning Plan is supported by a College-wide approach to social-emotional learning via our Zones of Regulation and You Can Do It Programs.

We are looking for a teacher who ideally possesses an underlying passion, interest and commitment to nurturing positive academic, social-emotional and well-being outcomes for students to inspire personal growth, enjoyment and success with their learning.

You should also possess high standards of professionalism and embrace opportunities for collaboration with other staff from across the College. You will ideally enjoy working in a supportive team environment, consisting of an outstanding group of Integrated Learning teachers who work collaboratively together and are very well supported by our Level 3 Head of Learning Area of the ILP. As a flexible, innovative and conscientious practitioner you should enjoy being part of a great team and be self-reflective to support our collegewide commitment to learning together and striving for ongoing improvement.

You will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You will ideally build positive relationships with students and be passionate about providing a strong foundation for our Year 7 students as they transition into high school.
