Title : Data Analyst / Data Scientist – Customer Data & Analytics
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Customer Data & Analytics, this role sits at the intersection of advanced analytics, experimentation, and real-world business decision-making. You will work with one of the largest and most comprehensive customer data sets in Canada, digging through a massive data lake to uncover insights that directly shape loyalty strategy, marketing performance, retail operations, and merchandising decisions.
This is a role for someone who enjoys asking sharp questions, forming testable hypotheses, running live experiments, and translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insight. Some of what you will do in this role includes :
- Partnering with business stakeholders to understand objectives, processes, KPIs, and decision points
- Exploring and querying large-scale customer data sets to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities across the data lake
- Formulating clear, testable hypotheses aligned to business questions and executing experiments in live environments
- Designing, running, and analyzing A / B tests, T-tests, and multivariate experiments to inform decision-making
- Writing and optimizing SQL scripts to automate data pipelines, workflows, and recurring analyses
- Using Python in a Jupyter Notebook environment for exploratory data analysis, data wrangling, feature creation, and statistical testing
- Developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations in Power BI to communicate insights, KPIs, and experiment results
- Learning and applying cloud-based analytics environments and big-data tools to scale analytics workflows
- Identifying creative, non-obvious insights that unlock new ways to drive business value
- Becoming a subject-matter expert in the datasets within your analytics domain
- Supporting the broader Data & Analytics team on high-impact projects and initiatives
You should have the following in your background to be successful :
A degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a closely related roleAdvanced Python skills, with hands-on experience performing analysis and statistical testingStrong, practical SQL expertise and experience working with complex datasetsProven experience with experimental design, including A / B testing, T-testing, and / or multivariate testing, ideally in partnership with business stakeholdersSolid understanding of advanced analytics and data science techniques such as anomaly detection, forecasting, supervised learning, and unsupervised learningExperience building dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI or TableauWorking knowledge of cloud analytics environments such as Azure, GCP, or AWSExposure to big-data tools such as Spark or Databricks is considered an assetWhat’s in it for me?
