Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Event Communications & Content to join our Ensemble Events team. The position requires a seasoned events professional with a broad, well-rounded set of skills, a high-level of energy, flexibility, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

As part of the Events team, you will participate in the content direction of Ensemble’s events as well as conceptualizing, designing, proposing, implementing, and executing the content of the events.

In addition to this, you will be responsible for drafting and deploying the communications. These events are revenue growth generators for our group of brands.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in shaping content and agendas as well as B2B events management experience.

This role reports to the VP, Events, and will work closely with our Executive leadership as well as our marketing and events team.

Your time will be divided across three key areas :

Content Direction (30%) : Responsible for shaping the content of events, which includes concept development, agenda planning, speaker engagement, presentation crafting, and ensuring high-quality presentations from all speakers.

Event Communications (40%) : Lead event communications to drive attendance and keep partners, members, sponsors, and staff informed throughout the event journey (pre, during, and post-event).

Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Event Engagement, to address partner, sponsor, and member needs. Report on communication effectiveness and apply successful strategies for future events.

Event Planning and Execution (30%) : Support the team in planning and executing events by creating event briefs, website and social media copy, managing signage assets, inbox management, and building event communications in CVENT platform.

Oversee speaker management, including content control, rehearsal oversight, and ensuring presentations are submitted, reviewed, and provided to the onsite team.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee event communications (invitations, emails, registration, surveys, branding, social media, collateral, website content) with the creative team.
  • Shape event content to engage the industry and leave a lasting impact.
  • Boost attendee engagement by creating and executing a comprehensive event communications plan.
  • Develop reusable event communication templates.
  • Standardize event materials with flexibility for themes or local flair.
  • Write, design, execute, and track email communications.
  • Communicate each event’s vision and purpose through messaging tailored to attendee types.
  • Collaborate with partner marketing for consistent messaging throughout the event and year.
  • Manage communication with speakers and sponsors.
  • Guide and support conference speakers.
  • Ensure sponsorship fulfillment by collecting assets and overseeing presentations.
  • Maintain Ensemble brand standards in speaker content.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sponsor or speaker value.
  • Manage event communications in CVENT and / or HubSpot.
  • Handle creative asset requests with the creative department when needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience planning large in-person and virtual events
  • Proven experience in marketing, events, conferences, and project management.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to demonstrate versatility in writing formats, including online.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to create engaging presentations, design visual content, and effectively communicate key messages to stakeholders.
  • Experience with CVENT event platform software.
  • Ability to travel for events as necessary.
  • Travel or hospitality industry experience an asset.
  • Relationship building, networking, and outreach skills. Sales aptitude preferred.
  • Ability to create thoughtful presentations, proposals, and ideas and present them internally and externally.
  • On the pulse of the latest trends on content, trends, marketing, events, and innovations.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically.
  • Ability to work autonomously in an agile, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a track record of taking ownership and driving results.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and deliver under tight deadlines / time frames; prioritize workload.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities based on alignment with business goals and strategic direction, define timelines, and deliver to commitments.
