FNQLSDI activities are mainly in French

Fixed-term contract until December 17, 2027, with the possibility of extension

Your mandate

Analyze air pollution issues within First Nations communities to design an adapted circuit rider training program, delivered in person in participating communities. The program will aim to strengthen community autonomy in identifying and implementing mitigation measures, while engaging community members in concrete actions to improve air quality.

Main responsibilities

Identify the project’s key characteristics through a need and interests' analysis of First Nations, with an emphasis on community priorities, risk anticipation, and leveraging opportunities.

Actively contribute to the drafting of project proposals and funding applications.

Implement the project and ensure the progress of activities by developing tools and maintaining follow-up with partners (e.g., meetings, events, etc.).

Develop a detailed work plan and timeline and ensure compliance by optimizing the use of available resources and monitoring costs in accordance with established procedures.

Prepare regular progress reports outlining results achieved and ensuring effective follow-up once the project is completed.

Always ensure high-quality work, focused on achieving the outcomes expected by our First Nations partners.

Conduct ongoing environmental scanning throughout the project.

Do you have what it takes?

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in air quality monitoring.

Availability to travel to communities across Québec and Labrador approximately one week per month.

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English.

Degree in environmental studies or a related field (asset).

Experience working with an Indigenous organization or First Nations (asset).

Proficiency in an Indigenous language (asset)
