Location: SDG Counties Administration Building + travel within SDG Counties
Term: May to August 2026 (approximate 4-month term)
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (generally Wednesday to Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility to support local events outside normal operating hours)
Summary:
Join SDG Tourism as a Tourism Ambassador/Tour Guide and gain valuable field experience promoting the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry! In this role, you will engage with visitors on active recreation trails, at community events, festivals, and local businesses. You will provide visitor information, promote regional tourism assets, contribute to social media campaigns, update the tourism website, and create blog content to help showcase the region.
In addition, you will work at the Historic SDG Jail, delivering guided tours that make each visitors experience safe, interesting, and memorable. You will also assist with special events and rental activities at the jail, process cash transactions, and maintain the site to ensure a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required.
Bilingualism (English & French) is considered an asset.
Successful applicants will be required to provide a drivers abstract indicating a clean driving record, prior to commencement.

Physical exertion and fatigue; exposure to natural elements; exposure to insects; travel on varying terrain; lone worker; interactions with public; and unpredictable interactions with motorists, other cyclists and pedestrian traffic.
Students will receive in-depth Health & Safety training provided by SDG Counties prior to beginning work.
