Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor, the Dietary Assistant is responsible for the coordination of food services, processing diet information and gathering of menu selections and preferences. The Dietary Assistant complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.

Qualifications :

• 1 year of practical experience in food service environment – preferred
• General understanding of therapeutic diets
• Demonstrates mature, professional and responsible attitude
• Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize work with multiple interruptions
• Takes initiative and demonstrates good judgement skills
• Excellent communication skills; proficiency in French language is an asset
