Senior Maintenance Machine Specialist

Overview

As a Machine Maintenance Specialist, you will be essential in ensuring the optimal performance of manufacturing equipment and machinery. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your role involves utilizing mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting, and experience with sensors, robotics, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical problem-solving skills to conduct regular maintenance and repairs in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. Your core skills in blueprint reading and machining, combined with premium skills in PLCs, will enable you to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. Strong communication abilities are vital as you collaborate with team members to uphold quality control and enhance operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment. As a senior mechanic, you will be responsible for assisting with the leadership team.

Work Schedule

We require the ideal candidates to be able to train and work on dayshift 6am-4 : 30pm Monday—Thursday. Candidates may be required to work occasional Fridays as per business needs. Candidates must be able to go on afternoons (4pm-2 : 30am) during peak season and stay there as long as required but be able to transition back to day shift if required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Contributes to the success of MiTek by installing, maintaining and repairing manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve equipment breakdowns and implement performance improvements.
• Supports quality investigations.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Maintains awareness and expertise in production equipment design, optimization, and maintenance.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
• Repair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches.
• Document and track changeover times and record.
• Follows all safety rules and procedures including Lockout / Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to insure a safe work environment.
• Execute preventative mechanics.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
