- We are hiring for two positions at two separate primary locations. One will be located at the Brooklin Community Centre and Library and the other will be located at the new Fieldgate Sports Complex (opening soon).Reporting to and under the direction of the Supervisor of Recreation and Community Programs, the Recreation Program Coordinator will be responsible for :
- Developing, organizing, overseeing, leading and delivering activities, programs and special events related to programs, leagues, camps and inclusion services for all ages;
- Recruitment, training, scheduling, coaching and guidance of part-time staff, contract workers and volunteers and ensures that programs are delivered and scheduled appropriately;
- Planning, creating, implementing, scheduling and promoting programs, leagues, special events and camps for all ages;
- Working with Third Party Recreation partners including but not limited to Community Connection programs, Durham School Boards and Third Party program providers;
- Maintaining program details and monitoring of program registration as well as report generation in recreation software system (ACTIVENET);
- Monitoring program attendance, identifying and following up on trends and patterns;
- Assisting in the development of new programs, procedures and practices;
- Monitoring operation of multiple program locations to ensure the space and equipment are in working order and supplies and resources are available;
- Providing customer service support to participants, and facility patrons including activity enrolment, waitlist management and revenue collection;
- Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with partner organizations;
- Assisting with resource utilization and budget preparation / projections;
- Other duties as may be assigned.#

- What You Bring To Our Team
- As the successful applicant, you possess
- A post-secondary degree / diploma in Recreation or a related discipline;
- Current certification in Emergency First Aid & CPR ‘C’ and AED;
- A minimum of two (2) years related experience with the coordination and development of recreation programs, services and special events, preferably in a municipal environment;
- A demonstrated intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Word, Excel and Outlook);
- Understanding of registration software applications (preferably ACTIVENET);
- A valid unrestricted Ontario Driver’s License (minimum Class “G”) maintained in good standing with access to a personal vehicle.
- A valid police criminal record check to work with the vulnerable sector#
