The Role
The Manager of General Accounting is responsible for overseeing the general ledger, month-end close, and consolidated financial reporting for a private equity–backed organization with multiple legal entities and more than $250 million in annual revenue. This role ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP and IFRS compliance of financial statements, supports external audits and lender reporting, and strengthens internal control frameworks. The position also plays a key role in scaling accounting processes to support continued growth, acquisitions, and exit readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple legal entities
- Oversee journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Enforce disciplined close controls and standardized procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Review financial results, investigate variances, and communicate insights to Finance leadership
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP / IFRS
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for audits and financial reviews
- Oversee intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliation
- Ensure proper legal-entity accounting and allocation of shared costs
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies and PE expectations
- Support SOX or SOX-lite compliance, as applicable
