Accounting Supervisor

Overview:

Our client is looking for an accounting professional to join their team. This role reports to the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end close and prepare financial reporting packages
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee Accounts Payable department, cash flow, and disbursements
• Assist with the preparation of divisional financial reports and analysis
• Support year-end audit and tax compliance (Canada and U.S.)
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Manage and develop a team of 3 direct reports
• Handle other ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

• CPA designation (or near completion)
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in distribution or retail
• Strong technical accounting knowledge is a must
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• Proficient in month-end close, reporting, and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
• Hands-on, Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
