Journeyman HVAC Technician – ATCO
ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our Facility Solution team in Calgary, AB.
The Journeyman HVAC Technician is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation and dismantling of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including central air conditioning, commercial and industrial refrigeration, and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems. The role may also include projects within the trade to install, maintain, repair and overhaul these systems. The successful candidate must be willing to work after hours and weekends as required. Uniforms and PPE are supplied.
Responsibilities
- Completes timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects or deficiencies.
- Performs scheduled maintenance service on HVAC and refrigeration systems and fixtures.
- Maintains accurate documentation of work completed and materials used.
- Assists with scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects.
- Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
- Ensures compliance with building codes, safety regulations and company standards.
- Ensures installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.
- Installs HVAC systems in accordance with construction plans and specifications.
- Assists in planning material needs and coordinating deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Certified HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic (Red Seal) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Class 5 license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Residential and commercial experience is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Strong commitment to personal and team safety.
- Willing and able to travel.
