Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director, IT Infrastructure Services, this position is responsible for overseeing all Internet Services, LAN, WAN and WLAN infrastructure and associated systems to ensure availability, performance and security. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintains the network within the performance criteria established by the Director, IT Infrastructure Services
  • Oversees physical network cabling as per standards and direction
  • Reduces faults by planning, monitoring, upgrading and securing systems
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements and proposes solutions to reduce the number of IT Support Centre calls through user education, process improvement and the use of newer technologies; implements approved network changes as directed
  • Develops and implements testing protocols to validate emergency and disaster preparedness plans; documents related policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Provides 2nd and 3rd level support within agreed timeframes as determined by the Director, IT Infrastructure Services and the Director, IT Support Services
  • Prepares and maintains network documentation
  • Assists in the development of the infrastructure plan and maintenance plan
  • Assists with the implementation of new and re-engineered IT processes
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders : guests, management and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications

  • Post Secondary education in IT or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • CCNA, MCSE or other related professional designations or certificates an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT; minimum 2 years with Microsoft networking
  • Experience in system virtualization (Windows Virtual Server, VM-Ware)
  • Experience with one or more of the following Windows Terminal Server / Citrix, WAN / LAN technologies including routers, servers, gateways, DNS, SSL, TCP / IP and Ethernet technology, internet connectivity, web hosting and intranets, MS IIS Administration, Microsoft Server Support 2003 / 2008, virus protection, firewall and proxy administration, data encryption, Windows share permissions and rights, VPN, Intrusion Detection (IDS), Network Access Control (NAC), Network monitoring and Management software
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
