Heavy Duty Labourer

We are currently seeking Part Time On-Call Heavy Duty  Labourers to work with our clients in the St. Johns, Mount Pearl and surrounding areas. This would be a position which would include :

• Material Handling : Load, unload, and transport construction materials (e.g., bricks, timber, cement bags, piping) to and from work areas manually or using wheelbarrows and pallet jacks.
• Site Preparation and Cleanup : Clean and prepare job sites by removing debris, trash, and potential hazards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the workday.
• Manual Excavation : Dig trenches, bore holes, and backfill excavations using hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks. Level earth to fine-grade specifications.
• Assisting Tradespersons : Provide support to skilled workers such as carpenters, plumbers, bricklayers, and cement finishers with their tasks. This may include holding materials, fetching tools, and assisting with simple, non-specialized tasks.
• Material Mixing : Mix, pour, and spread various materials such as concrete, asphalt, and mortar under direction.
• Tool and Equipment Use : Operate various power and hand tools, such as pneumatic hammers, drills, saws, and tampers, as directed by the supervisor. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of these tools.
• Demolition Assistance : Assist in small-scale demolition projects using prying bars and other hand tools, sorting and piling salvaged materials for disposal or reuse.
• Safety and Compliance : Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and national health and safety regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and report any unsafe conditions or issues with equipment immediately.
