Under the broad managerial direction of the Assistant Manager, Marketing Communications, the Marketing Communications Specialist provides creative marketing services in the design and delivery of marketing projects to internal stakeholders in accordance with established Pacific Blue Cross (PBC) price, product messaging, and promotion strategies; collaborates with external vendors including PBC’s public relations organization advertising agency and non-agency suppliers; provides communication support to PBC leaders; prepares and edits press releases, articles, and blog posts; identifies, participates, and coordinates the strategic planning of community impact programs including sponsorships and events to increase public awareness of PBC initiatives, products, and services; and proactively pursues, establishes, and maintains networks with internal contacts to ensure knowledge on PBC’s insurance products and services, upcoming initiatives, and external factors affecting competitive advantage in PBC’s marketplace is current and relevant.
Provides creative marketing services in the design and delivery of marketing projects to internal stakeholders in accordance with established PBC price, product messaging, and promotion strategies by:
Provides communications support to PBC leaders where situations such as customer complaints or observations received through a variety of channels including social media have potential or actual impact on public perception by authoring responses in consultation with management or escalating issues according to established protocols.
Prepares and edits press releases, articles, and blog posts for review by management prior to publication.
Identifies, participates, and coordinates the strategic planning of community impact programs including sponsorships and events to increase public awareness of PBC initiatives, products, and services.
Proactively pursues, establishes, and maintains networks with internal contacts to ensure knowledge on PBC’s insurance products and services, upcoming initiatives, and external factors affecting competitive advantage in PBC’s marketplace is current and relevant.
Identifies current and future trends, and collaborates with team members and management to capitalize on marketing opportunities and ideas to increase market awareness within available human and financial resources.
Produces a variety of documents including docketing project progress and generating a variety of reports on project, department, and organizational activities from existing templates.
As a member of the Marketing team, provides input into the development and maintenance of PBC and its entities corporate brand identity, and contributes to the development and enhancement of processes and procedures within the department.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of marketing and communications approaches and processes through continuous learning initiatives.
On a one-to-one basis, may support new employees by demonstrating the execution of specific tasks and duties, and sharing knowledge and experience on request.
Performs other assigned duties related to the provision of corporate communications services which do not affect the rating of the job.
