Duties and Responsibilities
:
- Provide overall coordination and day-to-day scheduling of projects.
- Health and safety of all workers as per Cavanagh’s Health and Safety Policy and Procedures as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Daily site superintendent logs and hazard analysis/workplans through Site Docs
- Lead, plan, organize and implement all aspects of the project on site alongside Project Manager.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine scope of work.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware.
- Manage material for work tasks in an efficient manner to minimize waste.
- Meet with Owners and Consulting teams in a professional manner and communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company.
- Maintain active quality control program to ensure compliance with the Cavanagh GC Standards.
- Engage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure common goals are achieved and corporate interests are kept in mind.
- Manage, mentor and train internal staff.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Construction industry with leadership and carpentry role.
- Valid driver’s license
- Site Superintendent training is considered an asset.
- A passion for interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership development.
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Strength in analysis and creative problem solving.
- Experience with COR (Certificate of Recognition) is considered an asset.

Wage Range:
The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $35.00 and $40.00 an hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
